I was in a film analyses class, I thought it was fake.. "What movie is this? The effects look like crap.".

And then my teacher used the fact that the t.v. got stuck on repeat (8 out of 9 channels showing the same thing, none of them having any idea yet what was really going on) to explain us a little bit about how the media works nowadays.

i was at the pediatrician's office with my 2 daughters and my mother.....they had the radio on, so i didn't actually see it happening, but i did hear it collapse via the radio station's audio feed......one of the nurse's husband worked in the building, and i couldn't help but weep with her as she kept trying to get through on the phone, but, obviously, couldn't......

(i never did find out if he made it or not)

the rest of the day was spent trying to get in touch with my brother and cousin, (among other friends n relatives), both of whom i spent a while on the phone with, trying over and over again to make sense of it all....since my cousin's up the block from me, i went over to his house after i hung up and gave him the tightest, longest hug i've ever given him.....normally that would've been kinda strange, but he clung onto me as if we'd always held each other that long *L.....we were just so relieved that we could still DO that, yanno?.........ok, i'll shut up now
